Sitting on the big four poster bed that had silk curtains that draped downwards to slightly shield the collection of teddy bears and other stuffed toys, was an open trunk that already had some clothing in it.  Walking back and forth from the trunk to a chest of drawers would be what appeared to be a servant, a modest woman in a nice and neat uniform appearing dress.  What she was doing was moving clothes and some more personal effects to the trunk, packing it expertly.  She was also good at her job, not disturbed when the sound of a foot that slammed down onto the ground, and the whining that followed.
"But why do I have to go? I don't want to be so far from everything, in a secluded little hut!"  The cute whining voice would belong to a girl of about 14.  A sigh would follow from a woman that stood in front of the girl, shaking her head tiredly.
"Because you need to be trained by the best, and Master Talus, is the best," The explanation would come from a voice that suggested this reason had been told many times over and wasn't going to change just because the younger girl asked multiple times.
"How do you know he isn't some kind of creepy pervert, who lives so far away so that he can take advantage of his pupils?" Frowning petulantly, the girl would pose the question to her mother, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"We know he's not anything like that because he values his life, and he answered everything truthfully under a truth spell.  He's just reclusive," The girl's mother would answer as she rolled her eyes.  It was obvious she was trying to stay calm, but her daughter's attitude was becoming frustrating.  Her annoyance could be seen in the twitching of the cat's tail that she possessed.
In fact, even though the mother and daughter were drastically different in dress and station from the servant packing the girl's bags, there was one big similarity.  They all possessed a set of cat ears, and a tail.
"But I don't wanna be so far away from Svart, or so far away from you and father," The young neko would try the homesick card as she pouted up at her mother with her big red eyes.
"You're barely going to be outside of Felinorae, and besides it's only a couple years.  But we will miss you too sweetie.  We're only sending you because it's very important, otherwise we wouldn't," With a soft smile the mother would reach over and ruffled the girl's dark pink hair affectionately.
"Excuse me, your majesty, the young highness's trunk is completely packed and ready to go," The rather plain neko woman would insert as she stood with her hands cupped together in front of her, as she waited her mistress's response.
"Very well Helena.  You may go for now, but if you want to say good bye when it comes time for her to leave, remember to be at the front gate in time," Smiling slightly she would dismiss the servant.  With a bow, Helena would leave the room, flashing the young neko a slight smile.  Even thought she was a bit on the spoiled side, there weren't many who didn't like the energetic girl, and she would have a pretty big send off.
"Why is it so important though?" The whine would redirect the Queen's attention to her daughter once again.  By her reaction it could be told that this was also an oft repeated question.
"Because dear, you are going to be the ruler of all of Felinorae one day, and you need to fully learn how to use the abilities that you have inherited as the princess.  All Felinoraens will look to you for leadership, and those abilities will not only lend you the support you will need, it will also prove your genetics if it ever came up,"  Explaining again she would pull her daughter into a hug before ushering her out of her room and down the plush stairs that was lined in obviously expensive materials and into the main room of the Castle that they made their home in.
Gathered at the bottom of the stairs would be a small crowd of people, made up of close friends, the Castle staff and of course family.  Everyone would give her an encouraging smile as she passed by them, and she got choruses of good byes and good lucks until she stood on the steps outside the main doors.  Turning back to look at both of her parents who now stood outside with her, her eyes would go to the male neko who carried her trunk to the carriage that waited for her, frowning for a moment.
"Well... it's time..." Her mother would say softly and pulled her into a tight hug, before relinquishing her hold.  The girl would look to her father and stepped into his embrace, a long and tight hug before he let go as well.
"You be good Katt, and try your best.  Your mother and I will stay in contact with letters.  We'll always be proud of you, but you have to remember this is for the sake of your people.  We love you...and we'll see you in a couple of years," Her father would tell her gently before smiling at her.  She would nod and looked at her parents for the last time, for the next couple of years.
"I will father and mother.  I love you both too... goodbye," Katt would reply, trying hard to hold up a brave front even as her lip quivered.  Turning around on her heel she would dart to the carriage, and jumped in.  After a servant closed the door the carriage would start up and began it's long journey to the Princess's destination, her parents whistfully watching it's departure.
Peering out the window, Katt would watch first the Castle, and then Svart city retreat in the distance.  Unknown to everyone, her life was going to end up changing drastically, and that childish little girl would be left behind forever...
